Troubling trend for the Trades......

New data from the fine folks at Leadferno reveals a troubling trend in the Trades:

The question: “How many times does your business follow-up with form submissions after they come in?”

The answer:

65.5% of Contractors only follow up ONCE!

I think most Contractors would agree that this is not enough - but hey, I get it… we’re all extremely busy. And it can be hard to get away from the other crazy things happening in the office in order to follow up with people who might say “no.” But you need to get your team following up more often with these leads!

When someone fills out a form, you should call them:

  • Immediately

  • 1 hour later

  • 3 hours later

  • 1 day later

  • 2 days later

  • 3 days later

  • 4 days later

Then, add them to a long-term nurture list where you send out weekly newsletters and seasonal promotions via email and text.

When a major weather event hits your area, send an email telling these people it’s time to book because things are about to get busy.

When you’re at the end of the month, send a simple email with the word “Reply” in the subject line which lets the people know “we’re looking to fill our upcoming month’s calendar with AC/Heat repairs. Would you like one of these spots? Let me know ASAP.”

(That email works like magic by the way ☝️)

Moral of the story: there are limitless opportunities to follow up with people after they fill out a form on your website. Once is not enough.
