Size doesn't matter

She’s always been the smallest on the field.

Addy, our 14-year-old daughter, has never had the booming kick or towering height of her teammates.

She doesn’t stand out in tryouts. She gets passed over—again and again—for the bigger, stronger, faster girls.

Coaches see her size and underestimate her skill, her impact, her value, her attitude, and her heart.

But they don’t see what we see.

They don’t see the girl who quietly shows up early and stays late.

They don’t see the one who walks off the field with bruises and turf burns, only to lace her cleats up tighter for the next game.

They don’t see the kid who’s down six times in a match, but gets up seven.

Last weekend, it was 90 degrees. Two subs on the bench. No rest. Addy was gassed, like the rest of her team—but when the game was on the line, she pressed.

While others hesitated, she chased.

When the defense relaxed, she relentlessly surged.

And that one moment of hustle—when nobody else had it in them—led to the biggest win of her soccer career.

Here’s the business lesson:

Being the biggest name in the room, the loudest voice in the meeting, or the flashiest ad on the feed doesn’t guarantee success.

But heart? Effort? Relentless follow-through?

That’s what builds businesses and success in life.

It’s not always the most polished brand or the fanciest funnel that wins.

It’s the one that keeps showing up. The one that grinds when it’s 90 degrees and nobody’s watching. The one that refuses to quit when it gets knocked down.

So yeah… size doesn’t matter.

But effort always does.

Keep pressing. You never know when your relentless hustle will create your biggest win yet.
